FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Announcing New Software to Password Protect Folders on Hard Drives, USB External and Removable Drives

Vancouver, Canada, August 17, 2003 -- Password Protect Software has released Password Protect version 3.2, a Windows XP/2000/NT/98 security program that prevents unauthorized people from viewing or modifying sensitive information on your computer. With Password Protect, you can protect folders on the hard drive, USB external and removable drives.

Unlike the built-in security of Windows XP (and Windows 2000/NT), Password Protect does not require the user to create different user profiles on the computer and then set up permissions. Right-click a folder, select Protect Folder and enter a password - that's it, the folder is protected. Password Protect can secure folders on both the NTFS and FAT/FAT32 drives.

The protected folder cannot be opened, copied or removed from the hard drive. The folder is inaccessible to all the applications including Windows Explorer and MS Office programs. Should the PC be rebooted into Windows Safe mode, DOS or another operating system, the folders remain protected.

Password Protect may be purchased for $39.95 at http://www.password-protect-software.com. Site licenses and volume discounts are available.
